  • Introducing.....Scrap Happy Club.
    This club is all about a night out for you and friends to work on all those unfinished Scrappy projects!
    Meetings are the 3rd Thursday, from 6 pm – 9 pm. at the Mason City shop.
    Next upcoming dates are Sept. 16th, October 21st, Nov. 18th.
    Yearly membership dues are $25.
    Membership benefits are:
         * 10% off regular priced merchandise at time of purchase.
         * An evening out once a month just to sew on scrap projects you’ve already started. Or any other project you are working on!
        * Freebie patterns, demonstrations, show and tell, and treats 

  • Saturday, September 25th, 2010  - Quilting Treasures
    Creative projects and methods are presented with up-to-the-minute
    quilting techniques by several quilters from Iowa and Minnesota. Specialty
    demonstrations and hands-on activities are featured when quilters
    can meet quilt, pattern and fabric design. This is an all day event for
    quilters. In the morning a Coffee/Juice/Bread buffet will be available  & Lunch is provided. Attend 6 Mini workshops, shop the many quilt shop vendors, and enjoy a speaker over the lunch break.....all for  only $29!!!

  • The 3rd Annual Quilt Extravaganza
    (sponsored by St, Ansgar Community Chamber)
    will be Saturday, October 30th.  9 am ~ 3:30 pm

    Once again....Quilts will be displayed all over town, 2 lectures (Doll Quilts in America -How doll quilts have evolved though 200 of life in America.  Many doll quilts will help us thorugh this journey.), vendors, First Lutheran's Annual Fall Luncheon/ Bazaar, Doll Quilt Challenge and Antique Quilt Bed Turning.

    Schedule and venue maps will be available at Saintly Stitches and other shops in town in early October.

  • Doll Quilt Challenge 

    Mothers, grandmothers, aunties and have brought delight to the little girls in their lives over the years by sewing quilts for their girls’ dollies. 

    Have some fun, sew a little quilt and enter it in this challenge.. maybe you’ll be the lucky one that wins the  Viewer’s Choice Award ($50 gift certificate at Saintly Stitches)

    • Purchase a fat quarter you wish to use in your Doll Quilt (fat quarters will be discounted 50 cents.) For those of you that live a distance away...You may pay $2.00 for the entry form at the time of entering your quilt and you'll receive a fat quarter when your quilt is picked up.
    • Attach the entry form you receive with your Fat Quarter to your quilt.
    • Enter as many quilts as you wish, each quilt must have it’s own form.
    • Quilts must be Doll sized.. the perimeter should be less than 144”.
    • Bring or send quilt and entry form to Saintly Stitches – St. Ansgar before Wednesday, October 27, 2010.
    • Name, address and entry number will be recorded when Quilts are delivered to the shop.

These just should be small quilts, any pattern, technique whatever your heart desires...remember, most doll quilts were made from scraps and sometimes were made by children!  So perfection is not an issue here!!  :)
